[Boom! (3 stars)] Tape Review

Having already established himself as a voice of a generation with films such as 1990’s Slacker and 1993’s Dazed and Confused, American director Richard Linklater directed only the second film he didn’t write up until this point in his career, 2001’s Tape.

The film, written by Stephen Belber, based on his 1999 play of the same name, still remains one of Linklater’s darker themed films, and gets a remake here by British-born Chinese filmmaker Bizhan. M Tong.
