When a handsome, successful filmmaker (Kenny Kwan), who lives in Taiwan with his wife and two children, goes to Hong Kong to show a film at an Asian film festival and decides to visit his duplicitous, drug-dealing best friend (Adam Pak) from high school in Bizhan Tong’s award-winning, riveting, superbly acted, intense, 110-minute remake of Richard Linklater’s 2001 thriller, tensions and ill-will escalate during the evening after he learns that his classmate has recorded him admitting to a rape 15 years earlier and that his alleged victim, now a prosecuting attorney (Selena Lee), is on her way over.
